ArtNook: Anna Duthie

By Bianca Nieves

Anna Duthie's “work reflects an appreciation of pattern, surface embellishment, contrasting textures and colour” and her 2012 Graduation Collection stays true to that description. Duthie has recently graduated from the Glascow School of Art as a textile designer, and has bewildered everyone that has feasted their eyes upon her mesmerizing graduation project. Specializing in embroidery for fashion, her work is a stunning masterpiece. Her end-product visualizations manage to create raw yet impeccable high style, wearable outfits. Such experimental patterns and textiles, all in pastel and opaque colors, are intricately interlaced with black and white paper models as their backdrop. Now, take a moment and let this entire visual loveliness sink in. All the big shots better watch out, because after catching a glimpse of these pieces: who wouldn’t love to wear all of her magnificent creations?
