Style Muse: Giovanna Battaglia

By Francheska N. Quiñones

Within overcrowded streets full of blurred time lapse walks some manage to hop on a bike and enjoy a smooth sail of an architectural city.  Even in a full volume skirt, chic stiletto heels and a slick hairdo to match, Giovanna Battaglia is a wondrous spirit with a liking of what is avant garde.

It seems people lack invention these days as they form a new wave of never ending similarities. This Italian beauty disunites herself from that monotonous party; she believes in glamour, excitement and the thrill of adventure.  Wanting a Vogue life as an evolving teenager, she captured Domenico Dolce and Steffano Gabanna’s eye with her young and fresh flair.  Revamping herself as a D&G model, her mentors exhibited her to a wicked world of unprecedented style, elegance and a never ending deep allure for dressing up.

Wanting more, she converted herself into an editor by the age of 28.  Now, she resides in the city that never sleeps, is a freelance stylist and above all else, the editor of L’Uomo Vogue.  Giovanna documents her well traveling eye as the official globetrotter for W Magazine.   Her reign as a multifaceted style icon gave her the essential tools for creating masterpieces with clothes. Battaglia’s stylist days are instilled in images worthy of being showcased in a gallery.  Her pristine wardrobe is an array of delicate fabrics wound in a zany manner having onlookers wanting to be a Battaglia (myself included).  Her icons are seen as the classics: Italian actress Monica Vitti and the lovely Audrey Hepburn.  When she is not rummaging around the streets searching for new inspiration she is often seen with the vivid Anna Dello Russo.  With a fabulous bestie, Italian royalty as her mentors and a wicked sense of fashion, Giovanna Battaglia is and forever will be titled as a spirited and ever so fierce trendsetter.
